Scanning old photographs can be a chance to fix up damaged images but also a time to digitally archive photos with detailed family information. Send copies to far flung family members. Ask for stories and anecdotes and preserve them as text files with the images on the CD. Make it part of that family-tree project you haven't gotten to yet.
